Families Facing Deportation Find Support in Local Congregations

In 2013, the U.S. deported over 130,00 undocumented immigrants who were living in the country. This marked the first drop in deportations after four straight years of steady increases and record levels under the Obama administration. To support these immigrants in Philadelphia, an interfaith immigrant rights organization called New Sanctuary Movement has been pairing local congregations with families facing deportation, so that they don’t have to do it alone.
