Yowei Shaw is a producer with NPR’s Invisibilia. Her work has been featured on This American Life, NPR, Studio 360, and many other places. She’s received a Third Coast Award and a National Edward R. Murrow Award, and was a USA Knight Fellow and recipient of the Leeway Transformation Award.

Yowei got her start in radio by teaching youth radio (when she was a young person, with no professional radio experience). She’s a proud member of the Association of Independents in Radio, is ever grateful for getting to be an AIR New Voice, and is co-president of the Asian American Journalists Association – Philly chapter. Her life has completely changed now that she’s upgraded to a standing desk.

Her first name is pronounced [YO-way]. Like NO way with a Y.
